Southern PI is a New Zealand-based private investigator service, providing specialist investigation, OSINT, and consulting services to individuals and organisations. The website southernpi.co.nz (“this site”) is owned and operated by Southern PI.

Our services are available to individuals and organisations in New Zealand, provided the enquiry is lawful, ethical, and meets our internal standards. We do not accept cases involving harassment, stalking, infidelity surveillance, or any request contrary to New Zealand law or our code of ethics.

5. Pricing and Fees

Southern PI operates transparently and will provide a clear written quote before commencing any work. Pricing is based on industry norms for New Zealand private investigators, and may be subject to change depending on case complexity, urgency, and location.

• Initial Consultation: Free (by email or phone, up to 20 minutes)
• Standard Hourly Rate: $100–$180+GST per hour, depending on investigator and assignment type
• Minimum Engagement: 2 hours
• Flat Rate Packages: Available for simple tasks (e.g. background checks) from $295+GST
• Expenses: Direct costs such as travel, database access, or urgent requests are charged at cost (with prior approval)

All fees are quoted in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) and are exclusive of GST unless otherwise stated. Payment is typically required in advance for private clients or upon invoice for organisations.

6. Confidentiality & Privacy

All enquiries and investigations are treated in strict confidence, and we adhere to the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. Please see our Privacy Policy for more details on how we manage your personal information.

7. Intellectual Property

All website content, including text, images, design, and logo, is the property of Southern PI and may not be reproduced, copied, or distributed without written permission.

8. Limitation of Liability
